The Nuts and Bolts of Monitoring
Students’ Reading Progress

This session will demonstrate how the cognitive model framework and assessments associated with each pathway can be used to monitor students’ progress. Participants will learn how to use both Curriculum Based Measures (CBM) and criterion-referenced assessments and will have the opportunity to practice writing their own PM assessments for skills-based instruction. In addition, participants will also learn how to determine if adequate progress has been made toward reaching proposed goals. Graphing tools and other resources will be shared so that participants will be able to practice what they’ve learned after the session concludes.
